20 years ago, a handful of local business leaders began a journey. Their quest was to create a bank exclusively for the families, businesses, and institutions of the Lehigh Valley.

There was no map for this journey. It was led by the vision of its founding directors and backed by a core of experienced banking professionals hand-picked to navigate through the uncharted territory ahead.

Together, this tenacious team forged an entirely new route to connect members of their community with unprecedented levels of financial value and customer service.

Our founding chairman, the late Elmer Gates, was committed to keeping our community at the forefront of everything the bank stood for, insisting that 'Lehigh Valley' be both in the name and integrated into the mission.

Embassy Bank For The Lehigh Valley officially embarked on this journey in November of 2001.

The vision was big, but started humbly, crafted on the back of a napkin and sealed with a handshake. We sought out people truly dedicated to the Valley to serve as directors, including the late Frank Banko and Bert Daday. The wisdom and energy of our directors, past and present, continue to guide every step of Embassy Bank's journey.

By staying true to this course of commitment to our Lehigh Valley community, many notable milestones have been reached in this journey.

Today, Embassy Bank is the leading community bank headquartered in, and dedicated exclusively to serving, the Lehigh Valley.

From humble beginnings (our first "office" was a mobile office trailer) Embassy Bank has grown to more than $1.5 billion in asset strength with 10 full-service office locations through Lehigh and Northampton counties and the streamlined, secure, "bank anywhere anytime" convenience of Embassy Bank Online.

More important, this growth has enabled Embassy Bank to provide lower fee deposit and loan products to countless local consumers and businesses of all sizes. Among these are Embassy's signature products: Free Checking for Life, Free Business Checking, Uncommon Mortgage, and many other lower cost, higher value offerings. It has also enabled Embassy to contribute well over $10 million in charitable donations to local causes.

At this point in our journey, many other banks in the Lehigh Valley are shuttering local branch locations, but Embassy continues to grow our neighborhood service network. And while other institutions "sell off" loans to outside interests, ALL Embassy loans and deposits stay local, helping to support the future financial strength and growth of our local community.
